Already built an app with Lovable, another AI tool, or a freelancer? Piezas can bring it over. Your AI tool redesigns and rewrites it on Piezas's hardened parts, moves anything that puts your data at risk, and tests every part before it goes live. Your original stays untouched.
Before you start
- Piezas in your AI tool. For example, the Piezas plugin in the Codex desktop app or Claude. See Install Piezas.
- Your app's code, in a folder on your computer. If it only lives on GitHub or Lovable, download it first. In Lovable, connect GitHub, then download the code as a ZIP file and unzip it.
- A Piezas account. You sign in through your browser during setup.
Bringing an app over needs your app's files, so it works in a desktop AI tool, not in ChatGPT on the web.
Step 1: Point your AI tool at your app
Start a new chat in an empty folder and say: I already have an app. Bring it over to Piezas.
Your AI tool asks where the app is on your computer. Paste the folder's location or drag the folder into the chat, and tell it what to call the app.
Piezas makes a copy of your app to work on. Your original folder is never changed. Installed packages, history and private settings (such as passwords and keys in .env files) are left out of the copy on purpose.
Step 2: Confirm what your app does
Your AI tool reads the copy and writes down what your app does: its screens, the kinds of records it keeps, how people sign in, and any outside services it uses. Each point is marked with where it was found in your code.
It then asks you only what the code cannot tell it, one question at a time, such as who uses the app and what matters most. You confirm a short summary before anything changes.
Step 3: Decide what moves to Piezas
Your AI tool shows two lists, in plain words:
- Must move to Piezas. Things that put your data at risk, so the app cannot go live until they move. For example, the app keeps its own database, or a key anyone opening the app could copy.
- Piezas can take this over. For example records, sign-in, file storage or email. Your AI tool recommends what to move and why. You decide.
It also asks whether the app already holds real customer data. Moving existing data is a separate, later step. Nothing is moved now.
Only you can answer these questions. Your AI tool cannot answer them for you.
Step 4: See it, then let your AI tool rebuild it
You see a clickable preview of the redesigned app. When you are happy, your AI tool rebuilds the app on Piezas, working through everything that must move plus what you chose to move.
Step 5: Tested before it goes live
Piezas checks the work as it is written, runs automated tests on everything your app must do, and scans for things that should not be there. If something does not work, your AI tool fixes it first. If it still needs you, it explains the problem in one plain sentence and lets you choose what to do next.
When everything passes, your AI tool publishes the app on Piezas Cloud.
Good to know
- Your original is never changed. Piezas always works on a copy.
- Your customer data stays where it is until you decide to move it, as a separate step.
- Any AI-built app can come over, whether it was made with Lovable, another AI tool, or a freelancer.
