The Piezas plugin lets you build a business app in Codex by describing it in plain language. Codex writes the code, and Piezas keeps your app's data, keys and approvals where they belong. This page shows how to install it in the Codex desktop app and turn on its checks.
We have submitted the plugin for OpenAI marketplace for review, will update this article soon.
Before you start
- The Codex desktop app, signed in.
- Node.js (LTS) on your computer. The plugin's checks run with it. If it is missing, the AI tells you how to install it before building anything.
- A Piezas account. You sign in through your browser during setup.
Step 1: Add the Piezas marketplace
- In Codex, choose Add, then Add a Marketplace.
- For Source, enter
https://github.com/Piezas-ai/plugin. - Leave Git ref and Sparse paths empty, so you always get the latest version.

Step 2: Install the plugin
Piezas now appears under Personal. Click + next to it to install it.
Step 3: Turn on the Piezas checks (required)
Codex does not run a plugin's checks until you say you trust them. Without this step, Piezas can still guide the AI, but nothing stops a change that breaks the Piezas rules while it is being written.
- Open Settings, then Hooks.
- Under From Plugins, open Piezas. It shows four checks that need review.
- Choose Trust all.
Codex asks you to do this again only when an update changes the checks. If you use Codex in a terminal instead, open /hooks and trust the Piezas checks there.
Step 4: Start your app
- Start a new chat in an empty folder. The checks load when a chat begins.
- Send: Set up this folder for a new Piezas app.
Step 5: Sign in to Piezas
The AI posts a Sign in to Piezas link in the chat.
- Open the link.
- Check that the code on the page matches the code in the chat.
- Click Approve.
The AI continues by itself once you have approved. From there it asks about your app one question at a time, shows you a summary, and lets you see a clickable preview before anything is built.
If something doesn't work
- No sign-in link, or the AI says the Piezas checks are off. Turn on the checks (Step 3), then start a new chat.
- The sign-in link expired. Ask the AI: "Sign me in to Piezas again." It posts a new link.
- Codex asks to allow network access. Allow it. The plugin needs it to reach Piezas.
- Piezas doesn't appear after adding the marketplace. Check that the source is exactly
https://github.com/Piezas-ai/plugin, with Git ref and Sparse paths empty.
Using Claude instead
The same plugin works in Claude. In Claude, open Plugins, choose Add marketplace, enter Piezas-ai/plugin, and install Piezas. Claude does not need the trust step.
