Open Your App in the Codex Desktop App

Piezas checks your app as the AI builds it. In the Codex desktop app, those checks only run once your app's folder is a trusted project and you've allowed its hooks. You set this up once per app.

Before you start

• The Codex desktop app, with Piezas added. See Install Piezas Codex Plugin for Desktop.
• A folder for your app on your computer. For a new app, create an empty folder first.

Step 1: Make your app's folder a project

1. In the sidebar, open Projects and create a New project. Choose Local project and name it after your app.
2. Open the project's menu and choose Edit project, then Add folder.
3. Pick your app's folder. To jump straight to it, press ⌘⇧G in the folder picker and paste the folder's location, for example /Users/you/Code/timing.
4. When Codex asks Trust this folder?, choose Trust folder. If you choose Open restricted, the Piezas checks can't run.
5. If the project has more than one folder, choose Make primary next to your app's folder. Codex reads its settings from the primary folder.

Step 2: Allow the Piezas checks for the project

1. Open Settings (⌘,) and click Hooks.
2. Under From Projects, find the project you just created.
3. Click Trust all to allow all its hooks.

Is your project not listed? Piezas hasn't set up the folder yet. Start a New chat in the project, say Set up this folder for a new Piezas app., then come back to this step.

Step 3: Start a new chat in the project

Start a New chat inside the project. New chats work in the project's primary folder, and the Piezas checks run from now on.

You only allow the hooks once per app. Codex asks again only if they change.

If something doesn't work

• The Hooks page says No hooks found. Codex doesn't trust the folder yet. Add the folder to the project again and choose Trust folder (Step 1).
• The AI says the Piezas checks aren't running. Do Step 2, then start a new chat in the project (Step 3).
